Sculpting Her Body Perfect by Brad Schoenfeld

This book is a breath of fresh air from the popular women's fitness books. Where most of the mainstream is preaching eat less and exercise more, Sculpting Her Body Perfect focuses on shaping. Most of the book's routines will shake a few trees in the fitness world where progress has been more mindless exercise and not the quality of the exercise.

Make no bones about it. The routines are more intense and demanding than many fitness routines. But, they are effective and FOCUSED on the results that most women want. Namely, a better shape. Not pounds or inches, but rather a nicer, prouder form. Schoenfeld describes how a woman can work with her own natural form rather than trying to chase the unattainable (and unreal) Barbie Doll figure. For instance, the stocky woman is not going to have long legs and a waspy waist. Therefore, it is in her best interest to develop her back to give the illusion of a pronounced hourglass shape. She can still be fit and look great without being thin.

The book describes not just how to do the exercise, but how to sequence the exercises for fast, long lasting results.

I use the advice in this book often for my female personal training clients and I can see the results much faster than the standard aerobic-exercise-only approach. Sculpting Her Body Perfect is not a beginner's book, but can help the beginner to some degree. Most of the routines are for women already exercising and who have some idea around gym equipment. There is even a section for pregnant women.

In the back of the book are the success stories of fitness and modelling professionals who were able to overcome such obstacles as over weight, anorexia and serious injuries. I found their stories inspirational and highly motivational.

This book is a must read for women who are serious about shaping themselves the way the they really want.
