You on a Diet - Book Review

You On a Diet is a highly popular weight loss book created by 2 doctors: Michael Roizen and Mehmet Oz (whom you may know from Oprah). At one point, this book became so popular that it was the third best selling non-fiction book in the world.

The book is written in a humor filled style which makes it fun to read and follow. However, make no mistake, this is a serious book and one which you'd do well to take note of.

The basic concept of the book is caled Waist Management. Yes, not Weight Management, but Waist Management. This is not such a new concept as many experts believe that the more accurate way to measure your weight loss progress is the circumference of your waist and not your weight on a scale.

The authors of the book promise to show you how to do a Reboot process which allows you to lose up to 2 inches off their waist in 2 weeks. The program is made up of eating 1,700 calories each day in 3 large meals and up to 3 snacks. The food is made up of whole grains, lean meat, nuts, and fish. Foods rich in simple sugars, saturated fats, trans fats and white flour shouldn't be part of the menu. Fruit and vegetables are encouraged.

In addition, you shouldn't eat after 8.5 PM, should avoid eating for 3 hours prior to bed time, and to exercise regularly. Despite this requirement to exercise, healthy eating is the heart of this book.

You on a Diet has excellent reviews from many readers and it enjoys a well-deserved popularity. It can help you make sense of all the food choices you have and help you make healthier ones. You on a Diet is a recommended book for anyone who wants to be more informed on how to eat to shed weight.
